HDFC is planning to enter Education Sector

HDFC, which is well known for financing housing loans, is now planning to set a benchmark in the education sector.

HDFC is one of the most prestigious brand which finance housing loans, and now it is planning to enter education sector by providing vocational training or teachers training programmes and by setting up schools.

It has already jumped into educational loans through its subsidiary Credila Financial Services Private Ltd. Now it is planning to provide financial support for setting up educational institutions or improving existing institutions.

Mr Deepak Parekh, Chairman of HDFC said that, in order to support such initiative, it will begin with some small steps and it foresee building an education organization on the principles of efficiency, effectiveness, integrity and transparency.

HDFC is formulating a strategy to enter India's vast education sector by participating in the segment of schools. The long-term purpose is to create a feasible impact on school systems across the country.
