ICAR ARS- Agricultural Research Service Exam Results
The results for Agricultural Research Service Examination (Preliminary) conducted by Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board (ASRB) on February 24, 2013, is expected to be declared in March,2013.
ARSE is an entrance exam for appointment as Scientists in Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of Indian Council of Agricultural Research in the pay band of Rs. 15,600-39,100 plus research grade pay of Rs. 6,000/-.

Preliminary ARS Examination
- The exam comprises objective questions worth 150 marks to be solved in 2 hours from the respective professional subject(s) for which candidate has opted.
- 1/3 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer
- Note: This is a qualifying examination and marks scored will not be counted for final selection

Main ARS Examination Paper
- The exam comprises one paper of 240 marks to be completed in 3 hours duration. The paper is spread over three parts: A, B and C
- Part A: Consists of 40 (forty) questions of 2 (two) marks each. In this part, answers required will be of very short, not exceeding 10 (Ten) words at the most.
- Part B: Consists 20 (twenty) questions of 5 (five) marks each requiring one or two paragraphs and/or graphic explanation.
All qestions in part A and B are compulsory.
- Part C: Consists of 6 (six) essay type or descriptive type questions which are all compulsory. Each question will carry 10 (ten) marks and may have two or more parts.
Candidates who clear the Mains Examination will be called for Viva-voce in the ratio 1:5 subject to minimum 55% are obtained by General / OBC candidates and 50% marks are obtained by SC / ST / PC candidates in ARS Mains Examination (Subjective type).

Centres of ARS Main exam:
Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Coimbatore, Delhi, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Jammu, Kolkata, Mumbai, Nagpur, Patna, Varanasi.
Note: The Preliminary ARS Examination is a qualifying examination and its marks will not be carried forward for determining final merit of the candidates. All those candidates desirous of appearing for ARS will have to take both the examinations and viva-voce. Since a pass in the Preliminary examination is compulsory for all candidates, only those candidates who qualify the Preliminary ARS Examination will be eligible to appear in the ARS Main Examination.
