Indore colleges stole the limelight at BAJA SAE 2012
The BAJA SAE India 2012 was all about two colleges from Indore - Shri Govindram Seksaria Institute of Technology and Science (SGSITS) and the Institute of Engineering Technology (IET). SGSTIS bagged two awards, while IET won one award, reported the Times of India.
In the static event award category, SGSITS came up as runner for Ansys Award and won the 'Pride of Indore Award'. In the report, Jhanvi Shrivastava, a second year student of mechanical engineering of SGSITS said told that this was the first time where the institute has completed the track round. (Read more...) The team had 25 members with 4 girls and most of them had cleared the written while others are expected to get job offers at the end of HR round on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, IET won the Go Green Award at the contest. Parth, a team-member told TOI that the entire team is thrilled with the performance. More than 1000 engineering students from the 100 participating teams took part in the HR round on Monday. On top of this, around half dozen automobile companies quizzed the participants. More than 200 students are likely to get job offers.
