Infosys founder gives youngsters "visa to the world"

"Nothing will prepare us better than education. Good quality of education is the only visa of the world, and we have to have the passion and determination to achieve our goals"
These are the words of Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy, Chairman Emeritus of Infosys Technologies at the Yuva foundation on Sunday organised by Deshpande Foundation in Hubli. Also regarded as an epitome of diligence, simplicity and determination, he added that Infrastructure and resources will always follow the good leader and entrepreneurs should inculcate leadership qualities. This expression of thoughts took place at the Developmental Dialogue-2012 programme held on the same day.
This was not the first time that he enlightened the audience with his captivating words. There have been countless occasions where individuals got the opportunity to gain some insights from this living legend.
Entrepreneurship is all about an idea which creates differentiated business value to customers. These golden words were spoken by Mr Murthy recently at TieCon Hubli-2012 on Saturday in a question and answer session with Mr Gururaj Deshpande, co-founder of Sycamore Networks, US. Mr. Murthy said that it is important to convince the customers about the benefits they will receive in associating themselves with the products or services. People will only pay if they are convinced with the services or products. He also added that for maintaining growth through innovation, a mechanism for generating future leaders is essential for which one should follow the ‘praise in public - punish in private' principle.
One of his most famous quotes goes like this, "I am a believer in the adage - performance leads to recognition, recognition leads to respect and respect leads to power". The words may seem simple but it carries a depth not seen and felt by many.
