ISC open for CBSE students who took school-based 10th exam
Scope widens for CBSE (Central Board of Secondary Education) students as those who gave the school based-exam this year can apply to Class 11 in Indian Secondary Certificate (ISC) schools, reported Hindustan Times. The news was announced in a circular issued by the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE).
For the second time, Class 10 CBSE students can opt between boards and school-based exams. On contrary to the decision taken by the CISCE, students who took the school-based exam will be allowed to apply to ISC schools.
ISC schools have received the circular on 23rd March. Gerry Arathoon, officiating chief executive and secretary, CISCE told HT that the council will review the policy again next year and take decision accordingly. (Read more...)
According to Vineet Joshi, chairman, Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the initiative will benefit the students. Seema Buch, principal, Gundecha Academy in Kandivli, expects more CBSE students as the council has made a decision well in advance this year.
