Luxury education for a lucrative career
By Madiha Jawed
Luxury education is the one of the emerging fields of study. It emphasizes on educational programs for undergraduate and graduate students in Design and Business related to the creation and marketing of luxury goods. The study endows students with various platforms to engage with senior executives in leading luxury firms to comprehend the unique properties and fine craftsmanship evident in the industry. So if you have dreamt of minting money as much as an executive at Versace or Louie Vuitton, you should certainly pursue your education in this field.
What's more interesting is that Abhay Gupta, the former executive director of Blues Clothing Company that represents brands like Versace, Corneliani, Cadini and John Smedley in India would be setting up a new venture called Luxury Connect to team up global educational institutions to provide luxury specific training and education in India.
SDA Bocconi School of Management, Italy is one of the associates of the company that would launch a luxury business management programme in India this April. The company has also collaborated with Jean Claude Roustant, former retail training director at Louis Vuitton, to offer a luxury customer experience management programme.
"The new venture will also offer consultancy, helping international brands set up shop in India and Indian brands go global," says Gupta, who has launched the consultancy along with longtime associate Rajat Bhattacharya, who will be the chief sourcing officer and NIFT graduate Love Ranga, who will be the chief strategy officer.
There would be more jobs coming in this sector with luxury brands targeting Indi. Due to the lack of skill in this field, this could be a lucrative career option. (Read complete story).
