Mystory@Ajay Sharma: How I made my career – Challenges and successes
My aim was to become an army officer, inspired by my elder brother who was serving the Indian Army. I opted for science (PCM) in 12th, presuming that it may yield better results in NDA exam. I managed to crack the written examination and Personal Interview (PI) but, was disqualified in the Medical Exam. Now, the next goal was Indian Military Academy (IMA).
How I cracked college admissions
After not being able to achieve the desired target, I decided to pursue B.A in Economics from Ewing Christian College, Allahabad. I opted for Humanities, again presuming that it will help me crack the IMA exam. Yet again I managed to crack the written and PI round but failed the Medical Exam. After which I decided to pursue my Post Graduation in Economics, from Meerut University.

After completing my Post graduation, I decided to try my luck for one last time and prepare for Army education Core (AEC), like every other attempt, even this turned out to be futile.
So, the switch landed me into teaching. Up till now, I have helped building careers of thousands of students and the irony is that many among them are presently serving the Indian Army. After 26 years of serving the education sector, I now feel that in order to achieve goals, one should pertain and believe in themselves. Self Esteem is the only key ingredient that motivates and boosts your confidence level.
Today, I do not have any regrets for not being able to serve the armed forces. Instead, I have developed myself as a Mentor who aims to produce good and respected citizens of the country. Oven time, I have tried to develop all the traits that lacked in me earlier. Self-belief, confidence, communication skills and positivity are the key ingredients to become successful in life.
