Mystory@Veronica: How I chose my course and career
I chose BA in my graduation because I was interested in Geoscience. Thus, after my graduation I completed my MSc in Geosciences and also became a certified GIS professional.
At one point of time, I realised that I am not happy with mapping and research only. So I started training and within a span of one year I got an opportunity to train Vice Presidents(VPs). I was also a very reserved person; someone you would call an introvert until I broke out of my cocoon.
In life it's very important to identify what you really want to do. But, it takes a while to truly understand which job satisfies our inner talents.Career selection is a very big task as currently everyone in India wants to get into the field of IT. Β However, the education given to us in our colleges is nowhere at par with the diversified job requirements in the IT industry.
Though I studied Geoscience, I did not pursue my career in it because I believed I deserved much more than I was getting at that time. So I changed my stream and stepped into what I really wanted to do on life. And I must say that I am very content today because I am doing something that interests me. Moreover, I am also getting the salary I thought I deserved.
