In a major reshuffle, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet has replaced Secretaries of 12 ministries

Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited, Sanjay Murthy has been appointed as the new Higher Education Secretary in the Ministry of Education.

K. Sanjay Murthy is an IAS officer of 1989 Batch of Himachal Pradesh cadre, he would replace Amit Khare upon his superannuation on September 30. Khare was appointed as Higher Education Secretary in December 2019.

Murthy has also served as Secretary of General Education and Technical Education Department in the HP government before he was moved to Delhi a few years back.

He is currently serving as the CEO and MD of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited under the Ministry of Commerce & Industry.

In a major reshuffle, the Appointment Committee of the Cabinet under the Ministry of Personnel Public grievances and Pensions has replaced secretaries of 12 ministries of the central government.

In another development, Rajesh Aggarwal, Additional Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has been appointed as the Secretary of Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.

Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan looks after the Skill Development ministry as well and has worked with Aggarwal, while he was Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
