Student with 78% attendance exempted from taking exam: DU Semester Exams
Semester exams are going on in Delhi University (DU) and they are not going as smooth as they should. About 350 students were barred from taking the exams due to the shortage of attendance. In a latest instance, Dyal Singh College had barred a student with 78% attendance from sitting for his first exam due to miscalculation of attendance.
The records of the student were examined after a teacher found him crying inside the college and the student was allowed to appear for subsequent papers. In the meantime, group of teachers from Dyal Singh College met the deputy dean of students' welfare and requested him to take a lenient view and allow the students to sit for the exams.
The colleges continue to differ on attendance rules as Zakir Husain (evening), Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Dyal Singh College, Acharya Narendra Dev College and Janki Devi Memorial College are among those barring students from taking the exams, while colleges like Ramjas, Hindu, Zakir Husain (morning), Daulat Ram, Gargi, Kamala Nehru and Ramanujan have decided against it.
