The First Sports University To Be Established In Ranchi
The Central University of Jharkhand (CUJ) has submitted the project report encompassing details of the conversion of the National Games facility into a sports varsity. Stadiums and facilities worth Rs. 700 crores were built for the 34th National Games near Ranchi. Talks are on for their conversion into first-ever Indian sports varsity. In order to establish close ties with schools, the state government is planning to open Kendriya Vidayalayas in proximity to the sports varsity. This move would help in reaching out to school students and encourage them to pursue their career in sports. The sports university will comprise of an academic structure amalgamating varied curricular programmes like sports management, sports psychology etc. along with sports themselves.
