University of Calcutta Ph.D in Museology Exam

University of Calcutta will be conducting an entrance exam on November 08, 2013 for admission to Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) program in Museology offered at Department of Museology for the academic year 2013

Eligibility:

Aspirants who acquire a master’s degree in relevant subjects are eligible to apply.

Exam pattern:

• This one and a half hour long paper, will encompass 5 questions of 4 marks each, based on a relevant paragraph to assess research aptitude; 15 multiple choice type questions of 2 marks each, from the core subjects; and 25 marks for a research proposal.
• The questions would be based mainly on the first three papers of the current MA/M.Sc. Museology syllabus, viz., Organization & Management, Exhibition & Education, and Care & Conservation, though relevant other areas like, Basic Computer Applications, General Knowledge, Current Affairs, Analytical Abilities, etc., may also be covered.
• Aspirants who score 40% and above in the written examination will be able to qualify for the interview round worth 25 marks
• It should be noted that are no negative markings for any incorrect answer.
