IGNOUs Campus Placement Cell (CPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aspiring Minds Assessment Private Limited to showcase IGNOUs Employable Talent Pool.

The Indira Gandhi National Open University's (IGNOU's) Campus Placement Cell (CPC) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Aspiring Minds Assessment Private Limited to showcase ‘IGNOU's Employable Talent Pool' through a customized employability assessment test called the IGNOU-AMCAT Test, followed by an opportunity to be successfully placed through an available recruitment platform called the I-AMPEAR for its students.

According to this MoU, Aspiring Minds will develop an IGNOU-Assessment and placement portal. It will conduct pre-employment aptitude assessment (IGNOU-AMCAT) on all IGNOU job aspirants from courses like B.A., B. Com., B.Sc., BTS, BBA, BCA and post graduate courses like M.Com, MA English, History, Sociology and Economics to benchmark students in terms of industry-specific and compliant recruitment standards.

Aspiring Minds will provide psychometric based personality profiling and mapping of each student as part of AMCAT to provide placement assistance by sharing the IGNOU-AMCAT assessment scores with top organizations that use AMCAT for short listing their candidates for interviews. After this test, the next step would be talent absorption through the I-AMPEAR recruitment/ placement portal to cover pan India study centers.

At present, this is a pilot project meant for selected regional centers while it will soon be converted into a pan India project with subsequent addition of more courses. An impact analysis will be conducted on a quarterly basis after completion of four placement cycles during each quarter. Annual review will be done based on the feedback received from the stakeholders such as the job aspirants and job providers.

"Based on the inputs received from the Aspiring Minds, we will communicate all our regional centers, study centers and students about the AMCAT and I-AMPEAR programmes to facilitate online registration of students for assessment. Students shall be distributed the IGNOU-AMCAT registration forms in the study material packets. IGNOU computer labs at its regional and study centers shall be used to facilitate the assessments," said Dr. Indu Uprety, Deputy Director, CPC, IGNOU.

"We will design, deploy and assist in the management of Assessment and Placement Online Portal viz., www.MyAmcat.com/Ignou to provide every AMCAT candidate a detailed employability feedback called the Aspiring Minds Seven Stroke Feedback and the scores/ reports shall be available online through a central MIS over preconfigured email address. There will be 16 to 18 assessment cycles annually conducted for a period of three years of IGNOU students," said Mr. Himanshu Aggarwal, Director, Aspiring Minds.
