Mystory@Sherry Joy Porol: What I gained from my college years
I can say that my college years were an adventure. That's where my talent in dancing and singing was developed. I have been a member of the school choir (soprano 2) for 2 years, a university level softball player and the leader of our dance troupe.
We got a trophy during the intramurals. During classes, especially in biology, my classmates asked me to draw for them, and paid me for it. I used that money for my everyday expenses like fare and snacks.
I was also a member of the music band of our department, and I am the vocalist. If given a chance, I would not like to change anything because I love what I experienced during my college days.
The memories and the experiences
My first choice was Mass Communication. Unfortunately, the tuition fee was too high, so I dropped a year and later I chose Industrial Psychology.
Since I love communicating and dealing with people, I chose the course to enhance my communication skills.
I love talking to people and listening to them. Their stories affect me in many ways. Some stories inspire me, some give me lessons and some of them make me realize that life must go on. That, E every day is a learning process and there is no need to change everything.
Being open minded and the ability to deal with people, handling stress and anger and being patient has helped me a lot, especially in my position right now as Recruitment Assistant.
Nothing is missing during my lessons at college, because I can say that I had the best advisor in the Psychology department.
