BSNL offers online certificate courses in Telecom

Science graduates seeking to enhance their knowledge in telecommunication can fulfill their dream by pursuing online certificate courses launched by India's leading telecom service provider - BSNL (Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd). Commencing from January 2013, the courses will be delivered at 17 different locations across India. The courses have been designed keeping the syllabus and knowledge of engineering students in mind.

The courses include Certificate Programs in:

• Digital Switching Systems
• Digital Transmission Systems
• Broadband Technology
• Optical Fiber Technology
• Mobile Communications
• IP, Networking and Cyber Security
• Telecom Support Infrastructure

For all these certificate programs, practical sessions will be held at weekends to expose the students to various telecom equipments in terms of their operations. The study material for the same will be available online and therefore the theory can be learnt online.

Students can undergo weekend practical sessions at the learning centre of their choice. The sessions will be conducted through live equipment worth crores at BSNL training centre.

Program duration and structure:

• Duration: 2 years (eight weekends)
• The practical sessions will be organized in the training centres for which the student has registered during the weekends
• Students can opt for only one course at a time
• Ten practical classes include field visits too
• Outstation students will be provided accommodation at reasonable cost

Fee: Rs 5000/ + ST (12.3%) for each course

The course curriculum has been designed by experts in BSNL, and classes will be handled by those having rich experience in the respective areas.

Examination and Certification:

The examination will be organised in the last weekend of the training. It would be a judicious mix of online theory testing and practical based testing. On successful completion of the course, appropriate certificate will be issued by BSNL from the center where the candidate appears for the practical training.
