Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) has launched distance MBA in Law. A job-oriented course, it is especially relevant for students reluctant to pursue a six-year law degree.

According to S N Vikram Raj Urs, KSOU Dean (Academics), the course was designed on student’s request. "We also conducted a survey on job opportunities for students who have done their MBA in finance, management and other subjects. The vacancies were too low, but the vacancies in many courts for the post of court manager, administrative officers in court and in private lawyers' offices were plenty,” he told TOI.

So far, about 20 candidates have been enrolled in the course. The numbers are expected to go up by December end. Graduates from any stream are eligible to apply for the course. The language medium of the course is English.
