The Indira Gandhi Rashtriya Uran Akademi (IGRUA), one of India’s premier pilot training institutions, has announced the schedule for admissions to its flagship Commercial Pilot Licence (CPL) programme and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) course for the 2025-26 academic session. The results for AME admissions will be declared soon, while CPL results will be announced on or after July 15, 2025.
Candidates who clear the selection process must confirm their seats by paying the required commitment fee. For the AME course, the deadline to submit the commitment fee is July 10, 2025, and for the CPL programme, it is July 26, 2025. Classes for the AME batch are scheduled to commence from July 21, 2025, while training for the new CPL batch will begin from August 20, 2025.
The selection process for both courses includes a written entrance test, followed by a pilot aptitude test and personal interview in the case of CPL applicants. The written examination was held on May 24, 2025, and shortlisted candidates for CPL were called for the next rounds from June 24, 2025 onwards.
IGRUA’s integrated CPL course includes flight training, simulator practice, and optional enrolment in a B.Sc. (Aviation) degree in collaboration with Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Avadh University. The AME programme focuses on the technical maintenance of aircraft, preparing candidates for licensing under the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
The academy also offers DGCA-approved drone pilot certification courses, expanding its scope beyond traditional aviation roles. With a legacy of producing highly skilled pilots and technical experts, IGRUA remains one of the most sought-after institutions for aviation aspirants in India.
