Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026: Students appearing for SSLC exams in Bengaluru this year can travel on city buses for free on exam days. The Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has started this facility to help students reach their exam centres without worrying about travel costs. Karnataka SSLC exams will begin from March 18. As per official data, around 9.02 lakh students have registered for KSEAB board exams

In Bengaluru alone, more than 1.5 lakh students will appear at different exam centres in both urban and rural areas. Authorities say all preparations have been completed to manage such a large number of Karnataka SSLC board students.

How to Use Free BMTC Bus Service to Appear for Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026?

Students can easily use this facility

  • They must carry their SSLC hall ticket
  • Show it to bus conductor while boarding
  • No ticket or payment is required

The free travel is available on all regular BMTC buses across city.

Important Rules to Remember When Appearing for Karnataka SSLC Exam 2026

This facility is not valid on AC buses, including Vayu Vajra services. BMTC staff have been instructed to help students. Bus drivers may stop near exam centres if they see SSLC students waiting.

Also, it must be noted that a large number of exam centres have been set up in North and South education districts of Bengaluru. Many students will be writing exams here, and the free bus service will be especially helpful for those travelling from far areas.

Karnataka School Examination and Evaluation Board has made special arrangements this year. All exam halls will have CCTV monitoring to ensure fair exams and avoid any issues. Due to heavy traffic in Bengaluru, students are advised to:

  • Start early from home
  • Reach the exam centre at least 45 minutes before the exam
  • The free bus travel is expected to reduce stress and help students arrive on time without any hassle
