BSEB grievances redressal portal: Bihar School Examination Board has launched dedicated grievance redressal centres to help students, parents and educational institutions resolve examination and board-related complaints. The initiative was inaugurated by Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari at board headquarters.

Along with physical centres, board has also introduced online grievance portal where applicants can submit complaints and track their status digitally. Officials said this move is aimed at improving transparency and making board services more accessible to public.

Bihar Board Online Portal Introduced for Complaint Tracking

BSEB has launched grievance portal at grievance.biharboardonline.com to allow students and institutions to register complaints online. According to board officials, every grievance submitted through centres or portal will receive a unique reference number. Applicants will also get updates through SMS alerts and online tracking system once their complaints are processed or resolved.

Speaking at launch event, Bihar Education Minister Mithilesh Tiwari said education department has been working towards creating transparent grievance redressal mechanism. He said newly introduced arrangement would help students timely solutions to their problems without unnecessary delays.

Q:   What are the minimum passing marks for the Bihar Board 12th exams?
A: 

To pass in the Bihar Board Inter exams, the students must secure minimum 30 out of 100 marks in every compulosry subject. The practical score will also be calculated for the final BSEB class 12 result.

Q:   Will the pre board examinations marks be considered in the Class 12 board examinations?
A: 

No, the pre board exam marks will not be considered in the Class 12 Board examination marks. Pre-Board or model exams are conducted to make students familiar with the board exam. This will help students to understand the pattern of exam, time management etc. It also help them to know how well they are prepared for the Class 12 Board examination.

Q:   How many students appear for the BSEB Matric exams?
A: 

Every year, more than 16 Lakh students appear for the BSEB class 10 exams. As per the data shared by the board, in 2024, a total of 16,64,252 students appeared for the BSEB Matric exam and out of which, 13,79,542 students passed. The overall pass percentage in BSEB 10th exams 2024 stood at 82.91%. In 2023, a total of 16,10,657 students appeared for the exam. Out of which, 13,05,203 students passed the exam. While 3,05,454 candidates were unable to qualify the exam. Last year (In 2022), 16,11,099 students appeared for the exam while 12,86,971 students managed to clear the Bihar Board Matric exams.

Official data for the number of students appearing for the BSEB 10th exam 2025 will be revealed by the board while announcing the result.

BSEB Chairman Anand Kishor said board had been directed to make services student-friendly. He stated that new grievance centres are designed to ensure complaints are resolved in systematic way. Bihar board has set up five separate counters for different categories of grievances:

  • Counter 1: Matric Examination Issues: This will handle complaints related to Class 10 annual and compartment examinations.
  • Counter 2: Intermediate Examination Matters: This has been assigned for Intermediate annual and compartment examination-related grievances.
  • Counter 3: Other Competitive and Teacher Exams: Complaints related to STET, D.El.Ed, Simultala Residential School entrance exams, competency tests and ITI language examinations will be addressed at the third counter.
  • Counter 4: Academic and Affiliation Matters: This will manage issues linked to school affiliation, D.El.Ed affiliation and scholarship-related complaints.
  • Counter 5: Administrative Complaints: This will deal with all other board-related grievances, including administrative and pension matters.

Bihar Board Single-Window Support System for Students

Board officials said centres are expected to function as a single-window support system for students, parents and educational institutions seeking assistance on various issues. Complaints submitted will be digitally forwarded to concerned officer or department for quicker action.
