CBSE 12th Revaluation 2026: Board Issues Notice on Calculation of Marks
Following the queries received by students regarding discrepancies in the totalling of marks, CBSE has released a notice clarifying the method for the calculation of scores. In terms of score calculation, when extra questions were attempted, CBSE has taken the best marks obtained by candidates.
Following the queries received by students regarding discrepancies in totalling of marks, CBSE has released a notice clarifying the method for calculation of scores. In the notice, the board said, “There are many internal choices given in question papers for students to choose from while answering their questions. Many times, students answer more than the requisite number of questions. As a matter of policy, CBSE has always taken the best obtained marks by the candidate and mentioned the other question/subpart attempted as Over Attempt.”
In such cases, the system has considered better of two marks for calculating result. Such marks which were not considered are shown as asterisk. The board asked candidates to see the asterisk mark and the foot note given before calculating the total marks obtained and shown on the calculation sheet.
CBSE 12th Revaluation 2026
CBSE Class 12 revaluation process started on June 2. The last date for revaluation is June 6. Students can apply for revaluation or verification or both. The fee for revaluation is INR 25 while it is INR 100 for verification. According to CBSE, the revaluation portal is working fine. However, students are still facing glitches. Aadhaar Card is mandatory to fill the revaluation form.
