CBSE Board Exams 2026: Exam Day Guidelines Released

With three days left for CBSE Class 10 & 12 exams 2026, the Central Board of Secondary Education on February 13 has released important notice related to the exam day guidelines. The Board has asked all the students to reach their examination centres on or before 10 am. The exam will start at 10.30 am. The entry in the examination centre will be from 9 am to 10 am.

No students will be allowed to enter the examination centre after 10 am. Students should carry the original copy of their admit cards while appearing for the exam. CBSE Board exams 2026 will be conducted for more than 46 lakh students from India and 26 countries abroad. The CBSE Class 10 exams will be held between February 17 and March 11, 2026. CBSE Class 12 2026 exam will be conducted from February 17 to April 10.

CBSE Board Exams 2026: Important Guidelines

Students must follow the exam day guidelines given below.

  • The doors of the examination hall will open 45 minutes before the time specified for the starting of the exam, i.e at 9.45 am
  • Students must be in their seats 30 minutes before the scheduled commencement of the exam
  • No students will be allowed to enter the exam hall after 10 am
  • Bring pen, pencil and ink. Only blue black or royal blue ballpoint pen is to be used
  • Students are not allowed to carry mobile phones
  • The allotted seats will have the roll numbers of students
  • Leaving the exam hall without the permission of Assistant Superintendent
  • Students need to write on the answer book the subject and question paper code number
  • Candidates should not tear any page of the answer key
  • Taking away the answer key is not allowed

Important Changes in CBSE Board Exams 2026

This year CBSE has introduced the following changes in CBSE Board exams 2026:

  • CBSE Class 10 2026 exam will be conducted in two phases. The second phase will be held from May 15
  • Two sections in Science and Social Science papers-
  1. Science: Physics, Chemistry, Biology
  2. Social Science: History, Geography, Political Science, Economics Students will answer section-wise, and evaluation will be done by subject- specific teachers.
  • On-Screen Marking (OSM) of Class 12 answer books
