CBSE Board Exam 2026: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has conducted a webcast for class 10th and 12th board exam students today. Students who are appearing for the CBSE board exam 2026 class 10 and 12 must know the important guidelines released by the board.

The revised CBSE exam guidelines 2026 have been announced for both class 10 and 12 students. The important takeaway was that the CBSE class 10 board exams will be held twice a year along with the announcement of On-screen marking system for class 12 students. đź”´ Highlights of Revised CBSE Exam Guidelines 2026:
1. Two board examinations for CBSE class 10 Board Exam 2026.
2. Question paper of science and social science in parts.
3. Digital evaluation of CBSE answer sheet 2026 via on screen marking system. 
4. No verification of marks after Class 12 CBSE board exam result 2026. 
CBSE Board Exam Guidelines: What's New for Class 10 Students? 
  • CBSE question paper 2026 for Science will have a separate section for Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Social Science class 10 question paper 2026 will have a separate section for History, Civics and Geography.
  • No marks will be awarded if the answer is not written as per the section.
  • Evaluation will be based on a section-wise score. 

CBSE Board 2026 Exam Guidelines: Intake for Class 12 Students 

The board has released statistical data highlighting that over 18 Lakh students generally appear for class 12 board exams in 120 subjects, making the answer books over 1 crore. With the new initiative of digital checking of CBSE class 12 answer sheets 2026, the transportation and evaluation time is expected to be reduced to one-third. The following are the benefits of on-screen marking for CBSE class 12 answer sheet 2026: 

  • The time would be saved as there will be no totalling, posting and uploading errors.
  • The automated coordination will reduce human intervention.
  • The evaluation will be faster with wider teacher participation
  • The CBSE answer sheet 2026 evaluation will be reduced from 12 days to 9 days.
  • The transportation time and cost will be saved.
  • The board has also highlighted that there will be no verification of marks after the results.
  • Evaluators will evaluate only answer booklets, and no totalling will be done by them.
  • There will not be a requirement for cross-checking of marks by evaluators; this saves time.
