Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an advisory to all affiliated schools after the Registrar of Firms, Societies and Chits, Agra cancelled the registration of the CBSE Board School Games Welfare Society (CBSE-WSO) for allegedly using the Board’s name without authorisation.

The notice states that according to Registrar’s order, the society’s registration has been revoked due to the unauthorised and misleading use of the term “CBSE”, which the Board clarified was done without its consent.

CBSE in its circular has stated that it has no association, affiliation or endorsement with CBSE-WSO and cautioned schools against engaging with the group in any form.

The Board has instructed all affiliated institutions to avoid supporting, sponsoring, or sending students to any sports events, activities or programmes organised or promoted by the now-derecognised society. Schools have been asked to treat all its communications and claims as unauthorised and invalid.

Q:   How many students register for the CBSE board exams every year?
A:

Every year, over 35 lakh students appear for the CBSE board examinations. Of this, almost 20 lakh students appear for CBSE 10th exams while nearly 15 lakh students write their CBSE 12th board exams.

Students must complete their CBSE board syllabus and know the exam pattern to perform well. They should solve the CBSE sample papers and practice previous years question papers to get familiar with the exam pattern, marking scheme, the types of questions asked in the exam and more.
