Himachal Pradesh government has announced to convert 100 of its schools under Himachal Pradesh Board of School Education (HPBOSE) into Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) schools.
The decision has been taken to improve education and give students better opportunities for higher studies and also for competitive exams.
HP Chief Minister has said that this initiative is part of a broader strategy to strengthen Himachal’s education system and ensure teaching quality is aligned with national standards.
100 selected schools will be affiliated to CBSE, with syllabus realignment and teacher training. Conversion of these schools will be done in phased manner, with first set of schools likely to become part of CBSE in next academic session.
HPBOSE is also likely to announce Class 10, Class 12 board exam dates soon. Class 10 examinations are likely start in early March and be over by April, Class 12 examinations are expected to begin by mid March and end in April.
CBSE 2026 Board Exams: Tentative Dates
CBSE last month issued tentative Class 10 and Class 12 board exams dates, set will begin on Feb 17, 2026. As per datesheet, class 10 exams will end on March 9, and Class 12 exams by April 9.
