Maharashtra FYJC Admission 2025: Revised Guidelines and Key Updates

The Maharashtra government has introduced changes to the FYJC (First-Year Junior College) admission process for 2025. Under the new rules, minority institutions are now permitted to surrender their unfilled reserved seats immediately after the first round of admissions. These vacant seats can then be reallocated under the in-house quota by junior colleges. Earlier, this surrender was only allowed after completing all three rounds of the Class 11 admission process. Additionally, the school education department has broadened the eligibility for the 10% in-house quota to cover students from other schools managed by the same educational trust or group within the same district. Previously, this quota applied only to students whose schools had attached junior colleges. FYJC admissions are conducted for all Maharashtra board-affiliated institutions, and applications can be submitted through the official website, i.e., mahafyjcadmissions.in.
