PM-YUVA 3.0 Scheme: The Ministry of Education, through the Department of Higher Education, has officially launched PM-YUVA 3.0Prime Minister Scheme for Mentoring Young Authors. This initiative is designed to encourage young authors, under the age of 30, to explore and express India’s rich culture, heritage, and history through writing. The scheme aims to promote reading, writing, and a vibrant book culture across the country.

PM-YUVA 3.0: Empowering Young Writers

The PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme will mentor young authors by providing them with training and guidance to explore significant themes related to India's history, progress, and contributions. This program is part of the larger effort to foster a reading culture and develop young talent to contribute to literature in India’s diverse languages.

In an official statement, the Ministry highlighted the significance of the scheme, stating, “The PM-YUVA 3.0 program will encourage the youth to delve deeper into India’s rich cultural heritage and its leaders' role in shaping the nation. It aligns with the vision of the Prime Minister to inspire youth to appreciate and contribute to the understanding of India’s history and achievements.”

PM-YUVA 3.0 Eligibility Criteria for Applicants

To apply for the PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme, candidates must meet the following eligibility criteria:

  1. Age Limit: Applicants must be 30 years old or below as of March 11, 2025.
  2. Previous Participation: Candidates who have already participated in PM-YUVA Scheme 1.0 or PM-YUVA Scheme 2.0 are not eligible to apply for the current edition.
  3. Commitment to Mentorship: Contestants must ensure they do not have any personal, academic, or professional commitments that may interfere with the mentorship schedule.

How to Apply for PM-YUVA 3.0?

Interested candidates can apply for the PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme by following these steps:

  1. Visit the official website at innovateindia.mygov.in.
  2. Click on the ‘Participate Now’ button and complete the registration.
  3. Login to the website and fill out the application form.
  4. Submit your book proposal content on the platform by the deadline.

The application process is open from March 11, 2025, and candidates can submit their manuscripts until April 10, 2025.

Guidelines for Manuscript Submission

Applicants must adhere to the following submission guidelines:

  1. No Change in Topic: Once the book proposal is submitted, the topic cannot be changed.
  2. Submission Deadline: The manuscript must be submitted via MyGov before 11:59 PM on April 10, 2025.
  3. Single Entry: Each applicant is allowed to submit only one entry.
  4. Genre: The genre for submissions is Non-Fiction.

Themes for Book Proposals

The PM-YUVA 3.0 scheme invites submissions on the following three key themes:

  1. Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building
  2. Indian Knowledge System
  3. Makers of Modern India (1950-2025)

Applicants must choose one of these themes for their book proposal.

PM-YUVA 3.0 Selection Process: How Candidates Will Be Chosen

The selection procedure for PM-YUVA 3.0 is as follows:

  • A total of 50 authors will be selected for mentorship.
  • The number of authors selected per theme:
    • Contribution of Indian Diaspora in Nation Building: 10 authors
    • Indian Knowledge System: 20 authors
    • Makers of Modern India (1950-2025): 20 authors
  • The selection will be made by a committee constituted by the National Book Trust (NBT).

Submission Format: What to Include in Your Book Proposal

Applicants must submit a Book Proposal with the following components:

  1. Synopsis (2,000–3,000 words)
  2. Chapter Plan (Detailed outline of the proposed chapters)
  3. Sample Chapters (2–3 chapters, totaling 7,000–8,000 words)
