Rajasthan Schools Closed Up To Class 8 Till January 13

With recording severe cold wave, the Rajasthan government has extended the winter break for students of classes 1 to 8. Schools in Rajasthan will remain closed till January 13, 2024, due to the prevailing cold weather conditions. The decision to keep the Rajasthan schools closed will be applicable for both private and public schools.

Jaipur District Collector Prakash Chandra Rajpurohit issued an order in this regard and said that the weather will continuously fluctuate for the next one week. Keeping in mind the cold weather conditions, the period of Rajasthan winter vacation has been extended till January 13. 

However, during this period the Board pre-scheduled examinations will be conducted on the same dates. The academic work in Rajasthan government, non-government aided and private schools till class 8 has been ordered to stop till January 13, 2024. The academic functions for these classes will resume thereafter.

As per IE reports, the timings of teachers and other examinations scheduled during the period till January 13 will remain the same. Action will be taken as per rules against government and private schools that disobey the instructions, the government statement added. 

When will Schools Reopen in Rajasthan Jaipur? 

As January 14 is Sunday and January 15 is a holiday for Makar Sankranti in Jaipur, the schools in the district will now open on January 16. While in Sikar, schools will open on January 15, 2024. The minimum temperature has reached below 5 degrees Celsius in Jaipur.
