Sarvodaya Vidyalayas Admission 2025: The Directorate of Education (DoE), Delhi has announced the commencement of admissions for vacant seats in pre-primary and primary classes at all Sarvodaya Vidyalayas across the national capital for the 2025-26 academic session. The admission process, which started on April 9, is being conducted on a first-come, first-served basis.

With over 400 Sarvodaya schools operating across Delhi, parents and guardians can now access the complete list of schools on the official education portal: edudel.nic.in.

Sarvodaya School Admission Guidelines

To ensure balanced classroom sizes, the Directorate has instructed school heads to maintain a class strength of 40 students in both pre-primary and primary sections.

Vacancy determination will be strictly monitored. Seats will not be considered vacant for students who have been absent in the current academic year unless there is verifiable proof of admission to another school. However, seats of students absent since the last academic year, untraceable, or confirmed to be enrolled in other institutions will be officially treated as vacant.

Additionally, priority will be given to students requesting transfers from other Sarvodaya schools, ensuring continuity in education within the government school network.

To maintain transparency, schools have been directed to publicly display vacancy details at various visible locations within the premises, including:

• Main gate
• Principal’s office
• Helpdesks
• School notice boards

Who Can Apply: Eligibility and Distance Criteria

Admissions are open to children residing within a 1-kilometre radius of the Sarvodaya school. In areas where no Sarvodaya school exists within this radius, students may apply for schools located up to 3 kilometres away.

Parents and guardians are encouraged to check the distance eligibility carefully before applying to ensure their child’s application is considered.
