The Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education has directed the official bodies not to file criminal charges against students caught using unfair means. The preparation forΒ UP Board exam 2026Β is ongoing by the board in order to conduct β€œcopy-free" exams under theΒ Uttar Pradesh Public Examination (Prevention of Unfair Means) Act. The Board emphasised that students will not be punished under the Act’s harshest punitive measures.Β 

The board has announced that disciplinary and criminal provisions do not apply to students appearing inΒ UP Board exam 2026 class 10 and 12.Β This exemption aims to protect the future of the students, ensuring a single misstep does not result in a permanent criminal record.

UP Board Exam 2026: Consequences of Cheating

The Board clarified that any candidate found involved in malpractice will face immediate academic consequences. The following will be the result of cheating inΒ UPMSP board exam 2026:Β 

  • The answer sheets of such candidates will not be evaluated.
  • The UP Board will withhold or cancel the results of such candidates.

The Board is adopting a "zero-tolerance" policy toward the examination. Strict academic actions will be taken against students who are found to be involved in cheating. The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) will conduct the High School (Class 10) and Intermediate (Class 12) board examinations from February 18 to March 12, 2026. The exams will be conducted in two shifts each day: a morning shift from 8:30 AM to 11:45 AM and an afternoon shift from 2:00 PM to 5:15 PM.
