Uttar Pradesh government has ordered closure of all schools up to Class 12 across state till January 1 as several districts continue to reel under severe cold wave conditions. This decision applies to schools affiliated with CBSE, ICSE and UP Board.
UP Govt order was issued by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath following reports of sharply falling temperatures and dense fog in many parts of Uttar Pradesh over past few days.
District administrations including Noida and Ghaziabad have been instructed to ensure strict implementation of order. Senior officials have also been asked to carry out field inspections to assess ground conditions instead of relying solely on official reports.
Apart from school closures, state government has directed authorities to make adequate arrangements for blankets, bonfires and night shelters, especially for the homeless and other vulnerable sections, to help them cope with the harsh winter conditions.
