WBCHSE HS Maths Exam 2026: The West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary Education (WBCHSE) has announced that 10 free marks will be awarded for the Higher Secondary (HS) Mathematics examination held on February 19, 2026. The board has made the decision following an expert committee review of WB HS semester 4 maths exam conducted on February 19.
Free Marks for Semester 4 WB HS Maths Exam 2026: What is the Case?
WBCHSE HS maths exam 2026 was conducted on February 19, 2026. Right after the exam ended, students & stakeholders have argued that there had been out of syllabus questions in WB HS maths exam 2026. The expert committee later investigated and found out that three questions in the HS Semester 1V Mathematics paper were out of the syllabus. These questions carried a total of 10 marks.

According to the notification, the question number and marks are as follows:
- Question 2B: 2 Marks
- Question 11B: 4 Marks
- Question 11C: 4 Marks
Free Marks in HS Mathematics: Who is Eligible to Get?
Council President Chiranjib Bhattacharya said that free marks in HS Mathematics exam will be granted to any student who attempted the out of syllabus questions. Full marks will be awarded even if the answer is incorrect or incomplete,
WBCHSE HS Maths Exam 2026: Key Details
The following are the important details for WB class 12 students:
- A total of 10 marks will be allotted.
- The out of syllabus question numbers 2B, 11B, and 11C.
- Full marks will be awarded to students who attempted these questions.
- Students do not need to apply for free marks. It will be added in the results.
