IIM Indore-mentored students bag National Means Cum Merit Scholarship
The students of IIM Indore, under i-Help, the student-run initiative, aims to educate, motivate and inculcate the desire to study among those who have been unfortunate enough not to reap the benefits of education.
National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme: Four students from Umariya School have bagged the National Means Cum Merit Scholarship (NMMS). IIM Indore mentored these students under i-Help initiative
According to the official statement, the students who have bagged the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme by the Education Ministry were trained by the students of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Indore. The students of the b-school mentored the students of Umariya School under their i-Help initiative. Kajal, Payal, Saniya, and Sonal, the eligible students selected for the National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme will receive INR 12,000 per year from class 9 to class 12.
As a part of the school adoption programme, IIM Indore has adopted four government schools in the vicinity. The students of IIM Indore, under i-Help, the student-run initiative, aims to educate, motivate and inculcate the desire to study among those who have been unfortunate enough not to reap the benefits of education. The school-going students are tutored by the i-Help representatives of IIM Indore for various other scholarship exams as well.
The National Means-Cum-Merit Scholarship Scheme launched by the Central Government aims to provide financial aid to deserving students. Students coming from the economically weaker sections are selected under this scholarship scheme in order to prevent their dropout at the eighth-grade level and to encourage them to continue their education at the secondary level.
