Chandigarh University Placements: Walt Disney recruits 47 students; offers 18 lakh package

The placement season at Chandigarh University has made history this year with Walt Disney USA selecting 47 students from the University’s campus placements 2019-20. The students have been offered a salary package of Rs 18 lakh per annum.

According to Meenu Bhardwaj, Manager, Department of International Relations, Chandigarh University, “This is the fifth year in the row that the US-based multinational and the world’s number one entertaining company Walt Disney has conducted campus placements and selected students.”

With a total of 47 students, this has been the highest number of the selection made by the company across India.

The selected students would be offered three months of training during which they would be paid $300 per week as a stipend for training. In addition, the company would look after boarding and lodging at Disneyland.

“In all, over 139 students have been selected by Walt Disney under the Disney Cultural Exchange Programme over a span of five years. The selected students would be joining as interns in various departments at Disneyland, Orlando, Florida, USA,” added Bhardwaj. The company hired 5 students in 2014, 10 in 2015, 11 in the year 2016, 25 in 2017 and 41 students in 2018.

The selection process at Chandigarh University placements by Walt Disney included a personality development test followed by an interview. From the 47 selected students, 23 are from Hotel Management, 13 from Airlines and Tourism, nine from BBA and two from BCom courses.
