Change in Reservation Category of WBNUJS

CLAT 2027 Update: Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has announced change in reservation category for candidates who are willing to get admission to West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata through CLAT. This revised seat matrix applies to both undergraduate (UG) and postgraduate (PG) programmes. As per latest notification, OBC-A and OBC-B categories of West Bengal have been removed from WBNUJS seat matrix.

In their place, a single OBC category of West Bengal has been added. Candidates who had applied under OBC-A or OBC-B categories of West Bengal domicile are advised to check revised CLAT WBNUJS seat matrix. Those who are eligible under revised OBC category can update their reservation details in their CLAT application form 2027.

Candidates eligible to modify their reservation category for WBNUJS can make changes in their CLAT application until October 31, 2026. Those who had previously selected OBC-A or OBC-B under West Bengal domicile category should review their application and update the category, wherever applicable.

Revised WBNUJS Reservation Categories 

The changes made to reservation categories for WBNUJS, Kolkata, are as follows

• OBC-A (West Bengal): Removed

• OBC-B (West Bengal): Removed

• OBC (West Bengal): Added

This change has been made for both CLAT UG and PG admissions 2027. Candidates should ensure that category selected in their CLAT application matches revised reservation provisions and their eligibility.

How to Update WBNUJS Reservation Category in CLAT Application 2027?

Candidates can follow these steps to make changes in their WBNUJS reservation details

• Log in to their CLAT account

• Click on ‘Edit Application Form’ option

• Navigate to ‘Reservations’ tab

• Locate West Bengal National University of Juridical Sciences (WBNUJS), Kolkata section

• Answer question ‘Are you a domicile of West Bengal’

• Select applicable reservation category from the drop-down menu

• Click on ‘Save/Submit’ button to save the updated information
