Delhi University is now inviting applications for the second edition of the Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme 2023. To facilitate short-term exposure and experience of students with the different Department/Centre/Institutes of the University of Delhi, the Central Placement Cell (CPC), under the office of the Dean of Students' Welfare, the University of Delhi offers the Vice Chancellor Internship Scheme (VCIS), the University of Delhi' at the UG and PG levels. Candidates must note that the last date to apply is on or before May 17, 2023.
The internship is unique as, on the one hand, it will students broaden their mental faculties, augmenting their skills in the comfort zone of their own College/University and on the other, it will be pivotal in enriching potentialities by inculcating research interests and equipping them with coveted work experience. The summer internship programmes give opportunity to students to avail paid internships at the university’s departments and centres.
All those students who are pursuing regular courses and streams, except first-year students, are eligible to apply for the internship on the university website. The DU VC internship scheme will run for a duration of two months–June and July, tentatively. All those candidates who are shortlisted will be called for interviews and students who will be selected will receive a stipend of INR 10,000 per month. An experience certificate from the office of dean of student’s welfare will also be awarded at the end of the internship.
Students who have previously benefited from the internship programme are ineligible to apply. All university institutes, departments, and centers, including the VC's office, the numerous libraries, the admissions branch, and the Equal Opportunity Cell, would be covered by the programme. For the 110 openings in its paid internship programme last year, the university got more than 3,800 applications from undergraduate and graduate students.
