NAAC inspection of Gujarat Technological University to begin on February 9

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) has applied for evaluation by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) a decade after its establishment and will be inspected by a team from NAAC from February 9 to February 11, 2023.

"The application for NAAC recognition can be made only after the first batch of postgraduate students graduate from a university," sources said as reported by TOI. GTU began a postgraduate course in 2017 and the first batch passed out this year, the University applied for recognition in November. 

"GTU has finished its preparations for the inspection and expects to get recognition from the assessing body two months after the inspection," the sources said.

As many universities in the country had not applied for NAAC recognition, the University Grants Commission (UGC) recently issued a circular asking eligible universities to apply as soon as possible. After GTU gets recognized by NAAC, it will be able to get its institutes inspected by NAAC teams and get NAAC ranking.
