Savitribai Phule Pune University: Academic Council accepts rules for credit system, first-year degree course result soon
The results are to be announced after a uniform code for marking has been accepted at the academic council meeting of SPPU which took place on Thursday.
The colleges affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University are about to declare the results of thousands of first-year science, arts and commerce students. The declaration of results has been pending on account of the lack of uniformity and understanding of the implementation of the choice-based credit system. The results are to be announced after a uniform code for marking has been accepted at the academic council meeting of SPPU which took place on Thursday. The students have been waiting for the students for the last three months.
In November 2019, exams for various first-year degree courses were conducted. The exam results are meant to be declared within 45 days from the conduct of examination, as per the university rules. However, the results have not been announced nearly three months after the exams were conducted, and even after second-year forms have been distributed.
As per the SPPU officials, the interruption was on account of the confusion pertaining to the implementation of the choice-based credit system. The respective board of studies for different subjects formed their own rules for the implementation. It is the first year the credit-based system is being implemented. And there were a lot of disparities since each BoS formed rules based on their interpretation. The results are to be declared within the next two to three days.
