The decision has been taken after senate members highlighted difficulties faced by students who did not receive help from colleges. As per the University Act, the approval of senate is required for the financial accounts of the university.
The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) Vice-Chancellor Karbhari Kale has announced during a senate meeting that a single window system will be set up to address the student's grievances related to the exam department.
The decision has been taken after senate members highlighted difficulties faced by students who did not receive help from colleges. As per the University Act, the approval of senate is required for the financial accounts of the university. However, as the senate is still not in existence in full capacity, the meeting was held by SPPU to complete the administrative formalities.
Senate members Rahul Pakhre and Sachin Gorde Patil highlighted the issues during the meeting regarding the difficulties faced by students during the exam. After hearing the issues, a decision was made to appoint a panel under the chairmanship of pro-vice-chancellor Sanjeev Sonawane. The committee will suggest short- and long-term solutions after a thorough investigation.
“The committee will submit two reports. The first will contain immediate measures to be taken by the department. The second report will include long-term measures, and will be submitted after a month. The main objective of this committee is to ensure smooth conduct of examinations,” Sonawane said.
“The report regarding immediate measures will be submitted in ten days, while the report for long-term measures with the help of technology will be submitted within a month,” Kale said, as reported by TOI.
