The examinations of Universities and colleges in Uttar Pradesh has been postponed and the decision will be taken in the first week of May.

Owing to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh Government has postponed all college and university exams till May 15. Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Dinesh Sharma announced that a decision on conducting college, university exams will be taken in the first week of May.

Dinesh Sharma, through his official social media handle, said:” In view of the corona transition, the proposed examinations of the Secondary Education Council Prayagraj Board from May 8 to May 20, 2021 and examinations of universities and colleges have been postponed until May 15, in the context of the examinations, the next decision will be taken in the first week of May.”

The  Uttar Pradesh government had earlier in the day announced that all schools in the state will remain closed until May 15. Along with this, the UP Board exams 2021 have also been postponed for UP Board Class 10th and UP Board Class 12th till May 20. It must be noted that this is the second time that the UP Board Exams 2021 has been postponed.

The Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Parishad (UPMSP) board exams were scheduled to begin on May 8.

Meanwhile, tin order to reduce the rising coronavirus cases in the state, the Uttar Pradesh government has also imposed a night curfew from 8 pm till 7 in 10 districts with more than 2,000 active COVID-19 cases, the official said. The districts are in Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Meerut, and Gorakhpur, the official said.
