Computer science engineering top pick among Andhra Pradesh students
After computer science engineering, the next top choice among students is electronics and communication engineering (ECE) in which 20,275 seats have been filled out of a total seats of 23,977 and 3,702 are yet to be filled.
As per a report published in Deccan Chronicle, computer science engineering (CSE) has once again become the top pick among students for bachelor degree courses in Andhra Pradesh.
Of the total 1,12,699 BTech seats available in all engineering colleges in 13 districts of the state, 80,935 were filled in the first phase of the AP EAMCET (Andhra Pradesh Engineering Agricultural and Medical Common Entrance Test). There is a huge demand for CSE among students and parents. Ninety-four per cent seats in CSE have been filled and there has been a good response to emerging technology courses.
Out of 24,904 seats available for CSE branch, 23,835 seats (96 per cent) have already been filled and only 1,069 seats are yet to be filled. After CSE, the next top choice among students is electronics and communication engineering (ECE) in which 20,275 seats (84.57 per cent) have been filled out of a total seats of 23,977 and 3,702 are yet to be filled.
Experts claim that students of mechanical, civil and electrical engineering streams can also get good opportunities in software professions but the lack of awareness among students and parents has impacted the traditional engineering courses in the state.
