COVID-19 Impact: University exams for UG, PG courses postponed in Telangana
The new exam schedule for the colleges and universities will be released soon. Students are advised to keep a check on the official website of their respective colleges for further updates.
In wake of rising coronavirus cases, the Telangana government has postponed all the undergraduate and postgraduate semester exams in colleges across the state. Professor T Papi Reddy, Chairman of Telangana State Council of Higher Education, announced. The new exam schedule for the colleges and universities will be released soon. Students are advised to keep a check on the official website of their respective colleges for further updates.
The chairman further added that Osmania University, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University and other universities have already postponed the semester exams. The semester examinations have been postponed in the state due to the rising coronavirus cases in Telangana.
Earlier, the state government has announced its decision on the closure of schools. The order has been taken into consideration from today, i,.e March 24, 2021, until further notice. The order, however, does not include medical colleges, which would continue to function as of now.
The Telangana government has taken this decision after the parents and students questioned the conduct of exams amid rising coronavirus cases. Students have expressed that it is not easy for them to appear for the examination when the college hostels have remained closed.
Due to the rising cases of COVID 19 in Telangana, the state government announced the temporary closure of all educational institutions, barring medical colleges, from Wednesday till further notice. Also, TSCHE announces the postponement of University exams for UG and PG degree courses.
