NID DAT Answer Key 2026
The National Institute of Design (NID) will not release any answer key or question booklet for the NID DAT 2026 Prelims exam. As per instructions given in the Admission Handbooks, the answer keys will not be shared with the candidate even upon request.
The NID will be having a Rechecking window for B.Des and M.Des, which will open after the declaration of the NID DAT Prelims or Mains Result for B.Des and M.Des. NID DAT Prelims 2026 result on April 07, 2026 for the B.Des programme and on February 17, 2026 for M.Des programme. NID DAT B.Des rechecking window will open on April 07, 2026 and will close on April 08, 2026. NID M.Des rechecking window will open from February 17, 2026 to February 18, 2026.
Overview of NID DAT Rechecking Window
The main points that candidates must know about the NID DAT Rechecking window are
- Rechecking is usually limited to verifying calculation errors or unmarked answers, not a re-evaluation of subjective content.
- It is available for a limited time after the declaration of NID DAT results.
- Candidates must submit a request online via their login portal during the window.
- A nominal fee is usually charged per paper.
The National Institute of Design (NID) in its admission handbook for M.Des and B. Des has clearly specified that it will not release any question booklet cum answer key for the that exams. Candidates may note that the question booklets are highly subjective, and as such don't have any model answers. The candidate therefore is suggested to rely on resources like exam analysis released by Shiksha. Com and other sites, including by coaching institutes, to get an insight into their performance. Note that the NID that 2024 exam will be held in January 2024 (tentative). Scores of the exam will be used to shortlist candidates for DAT Mains.

The NID DAT (Prelims) recheck for the M.Des programme covered the following items:
Whether all answers have been marked
Whether there has been any mistakes in totalling the marks in Part II and transferring the marks to the 1st cover page of the answer booklet.
The rechecking didn't evaluate any other part of the answer booklet. Also, the candidate is not allowed to claim re-evaluation, disclosure, or inspection of the answer scripts.

The answer sheets of NID will be released by the National Institute of Design (NID) only after the admissions process is complete. No request for answer sheets during the admissions process will be entertained. Note that the answer sheets will be available for one year after the announcement of the final result. The answer sheets can be availed on payment of INR 1000/- separately per exam. Note that to make a request, along with the fee payment, the candidate is also required to upload a copy of their admit cards duly attested by the Invigilator with the seal of the Test Centre.
