UCEED Entrance exam is over now, on January 18, 2026. The exam was from 9 AM to 12 PM. UCEED entrance exam was of 3 hours and will have two parts: Part A and Part B. The questions paper's difficulty level for 2026 is expected to be from moderate to difficult.

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED Entrance exam 2026 for B.Des programmes. The exam was conducted in 27 cities. The exam was of 3 hours with two parts. Read on to find the type of question expected, difficulty level, etc.

UCEED 2026 Entrance exam was conducted today, on January 18, 2026. The reporting time was 7 AM. The exam was  from 9 AM to 12 PM. Exam analysis for UCEED Entrance test will be out soon. The exam was of a moderate level. It was a bit lengthy, according to some students.

    UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2026

    To appear in UCEED 2026 exam, candidate needs to meet the following UCEED eligibility criteria 2026.

    • Criterion 1  Age limit: The candidate should be born on or after October 1, 2001. If the candidate belongs to the SC, ST, or PwD category, then they need to be born on or after October 1, 1996. This may change with the release of the notification and guidelines. 
    • Criterion 2 Number of attempts: A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of TWO times, and that too in consecutive years. The score of UCEED is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same corresponding academic year.
    • Criterion 3 Qualifying examination: The candidate should have passed all subjects in the 10+2 exam in 2025, or should be appearing for the qualifying examination for the first time in 2026, to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2026. Students from all streams (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2026.

    UCEED 2026 Counselling Fee

    All candidates who will pay the Seat Acceptance Fee in rounds I and II, can withdraw till the round-II withdrawal end date for claiming the refund. Withdrawals can be done only during the prescribed withdrawal schedules. The refund will be ₹ 55,000/- (Rupees Fifty-Five Thousand only) for GEN/EWS/OBC-NCL candidates, and ₹ 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) for SC/ST/PwD candidates, after deducting the seat cancellation and processing charges of ₹ 5,000/- (Rupees Five Thousand only).

    The important topics for UCEED 2026 Part B are given below.

    • Drawing: Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective and shading.

    Q:   What was the difficulty level of the UCEED 2026 exam?
    A:

    UCEED 2026 question paper included a total of 59 questions. The section-wise questions asked in Part A was: NAT (14), MSQs (15), and MCQs (28). Part B included a solitary Drawing-based question. The section-wise difficulty level of UCEED 2026 is given below.

    Part B of the question paper included a sketching-based question of moderate difficulty level. The question will carry100 marks.

    Q:   What is the difficulty level of UCEED exam?
    A:

    If you consider the question paper of UCEED 2026, then the exam can be considered to be moderately difficult. For instance, of the 68 questions asked, around 18 questions fall in the moderate category, 18 in the moderate to difficult category, while the rest can be tagged easy to moderate. 

    In contrast, NIFT and NID DAT are considered to be tougher. This is because in NID DAT, more weightage is given to subjective and drawing-related questions. Consequently, the candidate needs to be very creative and have strong fundamentals to answer the questions. In NID DAT for the B. Des programme, DAT Prelims carries 40% weightage, while DAT Mains carries 60% weightage.

    What will happen if If the total marks scored by two or more candidates is same?

    If the total marks scored by two or more candidates are the same, then the following tie-break policy will be used for awarding UCEED ranks:

    • A higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Part-B.
    • If the criterion given in (i) does not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 2 of Part-A.
    • If the criteria (i) and (ii) do not break the tie, higher rank will be assigned to the candidate who has obtained higher marks in Section 1 of Part-A.
    • If there is a tie even after this, the candidates will be assigned the same rank.

UCEED Hall ticket will have the following details of the candidate: Name, UCEED Registration ID, Roll Number for UCEED 2026, Date of Birth, Category, photograph, signature, examination schedule, examination centre details and instructions to candidates. 

    Candidates will not be allowed to enter the hall with admit card and Photo id proof.

    Can a candidate leave the exam hall early?

    No, students are not allowed to leave the UCEED Exam centre early if they finish the exam. Candidates have to remain in the examination hall for the entire duration of the
    examination. The exam will end at 12 PM.

    UCEED Entrance Exam: Reporting time

    The reporting time for UCEED is 7 AM. Entry inside the hall will be allowed only at 9 AM.

    IIT UCEED Exam will be conducted tomorrow at 9 AM. The exam will be conducted at the UCEED-designated centres.
