10,000 students get degrees at Anna University’s graduation day
Of the total 10,067 students who received degrees, 3,968 were female and 6,099 male students.
As many as 10,067 students received degrees at the graduation day of Anna University on the premises of the College of Engineering, Guindy. Of the 10,067 students who received degrees, 3,968 were female and 6,099 male.
As per a report published in The Hindu, Tamil Nadu Higher Education Minister K Ponmudy said the government was determined to implement schemes for students to make them successful entrepreneurs. He said, “The government has started schemes for the welfare of girl students, including a monthly stipend. The Chief Minister has launched the ‘Naan Mudalvan’ Scheme which aims to provide skills to 10 lakh youth across the state. The youths will be able to recognise their talents and interests through this scheme.”
INR 75 crore allocated to modernise Anna University labs
Anna University Vice-Chancellor R Velraj said the university had allocated INR 75 crore to modernise the laboratories in all departments. “Anna University has initiated a skill-aligned curriculum and recently organised a brainstorming workshop with more than 150 industrial experts and various other stakeholders,” he said.
Anna University among Asia’s 200 best institutes
Anna University is among the top 200 institutes that have found place in the QS Asia Universities Ranking 2023. While Anna University bagged the 185th position, Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) were placed at 53rd and 173rd positions, respectively.
