The circular was issued to all vice-chancellors of technical universities and directors/principals of AICTE-approved institutions.

The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has issued a circular to all vice-chancellors of technical universities and directors/principals of AICTE-approved institutions regarding implementation of reservation policy for faculty and staff appointments.

The circular reads, “All AICTE approved institutions are supposed to follow reservation policy of the State/Central Government Information regarding appointment of manpower including faculty with regard to reservation policy implemented in last 3 years needs to be provided in the form.. on top priority basis so that the same could be communicated to the National Commission for Backward Classes.”

The AICTE had recently urged the heads of institutions to offer online courses available on the SWAYAM platform and also do credit transfers adopted by AICTE on the pattern of UGC Online Regulations. The enrolment for these credit courses started in January 2023 and the date of registration for examination has not been notified yet.

The AICTE has also adopted the Creative Common Licences which will help making the AICTE study material easily accessible for both Indian as well as overseas students. AICTE also developed an AICTE e-Kumbh portal for uploading e-books after completion.

There are 88 courses, 42 degree and 46 diploma levels in the II year and most of these technical books have been written by eminent authors from IITs, NITs, etc. The license has been adopted in alignment with the UNESCO resolution dated November 25, 2019 (Paris, France), on Open Educational Resources (OER).
