AKTU to teach first-year BTech students in Hindi
The admission process in BTech courses is still underway at AKTU and classes will begin in November.
Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) and its affiliated engineering colleges will start teaching BTech first year students in Hindi. First-year engineering students will be given Hindi medium books from this academic session.
As per a report published in Hindustan Times, AKTU Vice-Chancellor Prof PK Mishra said, “This will be for the convenience of Hindi-medium students. The All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) is preparing books on several subjects for the first-year students. AKTU is also giving special training to teachers to teach in Hindi.”
The admission process in BTech course is underway and classes will begin in November. Under the New Education Policy, BTech students will be taught in both Hindi and English languages. Instructions are also being given to all colleges regarding this, the Vice-Chancellor said.
Prof PK Mishra said, “UP Board students will find it easy to learn in Hindi. The teachers of all colleges have been informed to keep in mind the interest of Hindi medium students too while teaching before the commencement of the new session.”
Question papers to be available in both Hindi, English languages
He said teachers would keep in mind that even if they taught the technical terminology in English, they would explain the same in Hindi. The question paper would be set in both languages and students would have the choice to answer either in Hindi or English.
“The question papers will be set both in Hindi and English for the BTech first-year students. Students can write in whichever language they want,” said Prof Mishra. He said teachers were being motivated to prepare textbooks in Hindi. Simultaneously, work was also underway to translate English books into Hindi with the help of artificial intelligence.
