AKTU VC Prof Mishra Resigns
Lucknow University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor AK Rai has been given the additional charge of AKTU.
APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University Vice Chancellor Prof PK Mishra has tendered his resignation, three days after he was removed by Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel. On February 4, Prof Mishra was removed from the VC’s post.
Two days after Prof Mishra was removed from the post of VC of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University over alleged irregularities, he formally tendered his resignation to Governor Anandiben Patel on Tuesday evening.
Lucknow University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor AK Rai has been given the additional charge of AKTU.
Mishra a PhD in chemical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University was appointed AKTU VC on January 5, 2022. Prior to that Mishar served as VC of Jharkhand University of Technology, Ranchi.
Prof Mishra was removed from the VC’s post and attached in the same capacity to Dr Shakuntala Misra National Rehab University. The order in this regard was issued by the Raj Bhawan.
Reportedly, former controller of the examination of AKTU, Anurag Tripathi complained against the AKTU administration alleging misuse of power. Following which, Raj Bhawan sought clarification from AKTU VC in the matter. In his complaint, Tripathi accused Prof Mishra of misusing powers and carrying out irregularities in the functioning of the university.
