As per the Central Civil Services Rules, departmental action will be initiated against him by NIT Warangal. The salary in lieu of the three-month notice shall be kept on hold till finalisation of disciplinary proceedings against him.

As per a report published in Deccan Chronicle, charges filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against National Institute of Technology (NIT) Andhra Pradesh Director (Tadepalligudem) CSP Rao have been proven and he has been terminated from the post.

As per the Central Civil Services Rules, departmental action will be initiated against him by his parent institute, NIT Warangal. The salary in lieu of the three-month notice shall be kept on hold till finalisation of disciplinary proceedings against him. Saumya Gupta, Joint secretary to Central government, issued the orders.

CSP Rao was suspended on March 30, 2022, on charges of corruption and violation of rules. It was alleged that Rao resorted to corruption in filling the posts in NIT Andhra Pradesh, giving promotions and in transfers. CBI officials raided his properties and seized some documents. Rao was appointed as director of NIT Andhra Pradesh on March 19, 2018.

Considering the prima facie material and the grave charges in the FIRs lodged by the CBP, Rao was placed under suspension and then suspended. A committee was also formed to probe the allegations.

Later, the director of the Nagpur-based Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology Pramod Madhukar Padole was appointed as director in-charge of the NIT. He will continue to hold the additional charge in Andhra Pradesh until further orders or on joining as a regular director in NIT, whichever is earlier.
