More than 43,000 of the 60,208 engineering seats that were assigned to 176 universities during the first round of admissions counselling have been confirmed by students.

Classes of undergraduate first-year first-semester engineering courses for the 2022-23 academic year are expected to begin in the first week of November. Earlier, classes were scheduled to begin in the last week of October. Following postponement of second and final phases of web counselling due to delay in fixing the fee structure for the engineering courses, the commencement of first semester classes has been pushed to the first week of November.

Second phase of counselling to begin on Oct 11

Meanwhile, candidates can register, pay processing fee and book slot to take part in the second phase of web counselling on October 11 and 12. Verification of certificates for candidates who already booked slots will be done on October 12 and web options can be exercised on October 12 and 13.

Candidates who receive seat allotment order must pay tuition fee and self-report online between October 16 and 18. During the first phase of admission counselling, 60,208 engineering seats were allotted in 176 colleges of which more than 43,000 seats were confirmed by students.

Meanwhile, several colleges that are demanding revision of fee structure want the process to be completed as soon as possible. Private universities in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu where a lot of Telugu students have got admissions have already started classes.
