GATE 2024 application process likely to start on Aug 24

IISc Bangalore to organise the GATE 2024 on the following dates - Feb 3, 4, 11 and 12th, 2024. The application process is expected to start on August 24, 2023.

GATE 2024: IISc Bangalore is the organising institute for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) in association with seven IITs. The institute has notified that this year, the computer-based test will feature a fresh additional test paper on Data Science and Artificial Intelligence. The online application is expected to open on August 24, 2023. 

The seven IITs which are jointly organising the GATE 2024 include - IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, IIT Roorkee, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, and IIT Kanpur. 

Once, the registration gets started, the aspiring candidates are urged to register on the official website, gate2024.isc.ac.in.

Eligibility: Candidates who are currently studying in the 3rd or higher years of any undergraduate degree program or who have completed any government-approved degree program in Engineering/ Technology/ Science/ Architecture/ Humanities are eligible to appear for GATE 2024.

GATE 2024: Data Required for Filling Online Application Form

As per the official notification, following data is required: 

• Personal information (name, date of birth, personal mobile number, parents’ name, parents’ mobile number, etc.).
• The name of the candidate in the application form must be exactly the same as that in the valid photo ID, which the candidate MUST produce in original while appearing for GATE-2024 examination at the centre. GATE 2024 scorecard will be issued as per the name entered in the application form.
• Prefixes/titles such as Mr / Shri / Dr / Mrs / Smt / Prof / Capt / Maj / Lt / Col / Er / Ar, etc. MUST NOT be used.
• Address for communication (including PIN code).
• Eligibility degree details.
• GATE paper(s) and their codes in which the candidate wishes to appear.
• THREE choices of GATE examination cities (from the same zone).
• Net-banking /debit card / credit card / UPI / wallet details for fee payment.

GATE Exam Details

GATE 2024 will be conducted for 30 test papers. The test papers will be in English. Each GATE 2024 paper is for a total of 100 marks, General Aptitude (GA) is common for all papers (15 marks), and the rest of the paper covers the respective test paper syllabus (85 marks).

GATE is a prestigious national-level exam that assesses candidates for a comprehensive understanding of various undergraduate-level subjects in Engineering, Technology, Science, Architecture, and Humanities.
